Claire's birthday weekend so we headed to Aberaeron and to Bargoed Farm Lakeside Camping & Caravan Park.
The park has only been opened for 2 years and is still undergoing building but it does have one unique touch.....your own private hot tub.
Upon arrival, the check in was easy, you are taken to your pitch and given instructions on how to use the hot tub.
First thing we done after setting up was clothes off and jump straight into the hot tub..was super hot and we spent at least 2 hours in there. Given the weather wasn't too great, this was such a bonus.
After lazing about in the tub, we showered and headed to the on-site cafe/restaurant 'The Moody Cow' for a some food. There is a dog friendly section there if anyone has pets with them. The place was clean, staff were friendly and the menu is all home grown or locally sourced.
There is good 4G coverage at the camp so it was back to the van then to chill out for the evening
with Netlflix.
The weather was absolutely disgusting, high winds and heavy constant rain throughout the night...I really thought the van was going to lift off the ground at one point so there wasn't much sleep had.
The plan for today was head up to Aberystwych, have a walk around the sea front and take a trip on the Aberystwich Cliff Railway but having arrived, the heavens had opened up again, horizontal rain, hail & snow, so we decided to just find the nearest Costa, have a coffee, quick visit to the pet store to get some treats to take back for the dog and headed back to the campsite where we had food, back to the van, into the hot tub and another chill out evening for our last night.
All in all, a great short weekend away, just a shame about the weather.
We can highly recommend this campsite, clean toilet/shower blocks, secure 1 acre dog walking area, its own lake, great food, friendly staff, level hard standings and that amazing hot tub.
As previously mentioned, the site is still undergoing building here and there, the roads to the pitches has not been fully tarmaced as yet so it is a bit muddy in parts but when its fully completed this will be an awesome site to stay for a few days.
So thats another trip over with. Not sure if we will get out again in the van until May with our annual trip to North Wales. But hopefully if we do, I'll let you guys know.
